Even all the great stuff we make needs some repairs sometimes. If it's an Apocalypse product, and the damage is covered under the warranty, just send it to us postage paid and we will repair it at no charge.

----------------------------------------

So what about all your other gear, it needs repairs and zippers replaced and modified as well. We do that also. Below is a price sheet for repairs on NON-Apocalypse gear. We provide a fast turn around because we know what it's like to be without gear that's important to you when you are doing trips and outings.

On ZIP replacements, we ONLY use YKK molded tooth zips, # 5, # 8, and #10. All of our zips are BLACK. If no zip size is specified, we will use the appropriate size according to our experience, BIGGER is better. All of our thread is black also, if a specific color is requested for a repair, and we have it in stock, we'll use it, if not we will try to get close.

PLEASE clearly mark or tag ALL zips, rips, repairs and modifications that you want us to work on , this will speed up the whole job and help us to be sure to repair your gear.

The easiest way to get your damaged goods to us is just pop them in the mail, include a brief note on what you want done. You can also use the order form for the info we need. Make sure you give us your name, address, e-mail address, daytime phone number, method of payment ( credit card, check, COD, etc, all US funds ), favorite climbing / caving area, and when you would like your gear back. Make sure to include shipping and insurance back to you at the appropriate speed you require.

Tent Zippers...

Tent zips can be approached in two ways. Most tent zips are coil zips, not tooth and are said to be "self healing". Well, anyone who has spent time on the north slope of Alaska or Canada in the summer, with millions of mosquitoes or in a raging blizzard in the mountains can tell you that sometimes these zips leave you hanging and unable to close your door. So when it comes time for a repair, we can put new slides back on that coil zip and save you some money, but you have no idea how long the quick fix will last, one trip or 10 years. What we feel is best is change that zip to a YKK # 8 tooth. This gives you a heavy duty zip that will last much longer and take a great deal more abuse. Prices below are for EACH zip replaced.

2-4 person

 curved zip $ 48.00

 straight zip $ 48.00

6-10 person

Packs and bags...

Packs and any other sorts of bags pretty much always just need a new zip put in. These items usually have a good hard life expectancy and in most cases, the zip is the only problem. Repairs though can vary from brand to brand for other sorts of problems you may have, if you need something thats not listed, call or e-mail, chances are we have done similar repairs on other gear before. For special modifications to packs and such, contact us.

Buckles and web are the next set of problems for a pack or bag. Because of the variation of locations and types of hardware on any given pack or bag, the prices are only general. We maintain a large variety of hardware, so in most cases we will have the hardware you need, but if it is not available we will find a suitable substitute to get your gear back in working order as fast as possible.
Hardware replacement--- $ 4.00 to $ 8.00 + per buckle depending on type of hardware and location of hardware on pack or bag.Webbing replacement--- $ 4.00 to $ 12.00 + per section of web replaced / repaired. Sorry for the wide range, we really need to see the gear to give an exact price.

Sleeping bags.......

Sleeping bags are just like tents in that, when the zip goes, you are not quite as comfortable as you would probably like to be. Most bags are pretty expensive these days, so the cost of having a new quality zip installed is not that significant. We only use YKK # 10 tooth, 2-way zips for sleeping bags. If you have bags that zip together, please take the type of zip we use into consideration to make sure that the bags will still zip together when we are done. Maybe it's time to get both zips done.

Zip replacement---$ 54.00

Jacket zippers...

Jacket zips are one of those heavy use items and when they go, they go..... We work on over 1,000 jacket zips each year, so we see alot of the same problems over and over. The most common problem being the wrong size zip in a given jacket, always too small for the intended use and therefore giving out prematurely. On light weight jackets we use # 5 or # 8 tooth. On medium weight jackets we use # 8 or #10 tooth, and on heavy weight jackets we use # 10 tooth. If you want something specific, let us know. If the zip we take out of your jacket was a one-way zip, thats what we will put back in, and if it was a two-way zip , thats what we will put back in. If you want a different zip than what came out, you must let us know ahead of time. Remember, BLACK thread unless otherwise indicated.
